Erics Picture a Week Blog

This is my new site for my 2007 Picture a Week project. In 2006 I moved to a photoblog format and feel very comfortable with it. This site allows me to post more than one picture per week. Of course it tells if I don't keep up with the weekly posting. Also included is the archive for my 2005 Picture a Week project.

Week 8a

A staple at many playlots are the tic tac toe boards. Today was a bit cold, so the playground was deserted except for my two guys who run away when they see me with the camera.

Week 8

Like many other areas, our parks have become a haven for permanent resident geese. Instead of flying north or south, they just stay here. If you follow the footprints, you'll be treated to their "tootsie rolls" .

Week 7 Spring is in the Air

Here is another guy looking forward to warm weather. He'll be ready as soon as the ice clears off the lake. No wind chill, no wind surfing-what a dilemma.

Week 7 Spring is in the Air

This weekend had a minor warmup, so I headed down to Evanston to get some E-6 work done. I wandered down to the lakefront by the Northwestern campus and found the students getting ready for spring. The University was sponsoring a 5k run. Good thing the wind chill was only 29 degrees.

Week #6

The local camera shop is closing up. By the time I moved into the area, this store was past its heyday. I guess it is another casualty of the digital age and the big box store syndrome.

The moral of the story is to shop local.

Week #6

I was trying out a newly acquired camera and ran into this guy at the local camping supply store. I also ended buying a new Timbuk2 Metro bag for the camera.

Week #5

We had the annual pinewood derby last week. I didn't bring a flash, so I pushed the film a stop. The lighting at the gym was very shadowy, so I wasn't entirely happy with the pictures.

Erics Pawblog Week 4

My friend Marty and a couple of us has been helping the cub scouts out on building their pinewood derby cars. I thought I would try out my newly acquired Topcor lens wide open on this occasion. Too bad the drill press is the point of focus instead of Marty.

Erics Pawblog Week 4

My suburb is suffering from the tear down syndrome, so common in older areas. This cottage style home across the street from me is scheduled for demolition and hopefully a tastefully designed house will rise from the ruins. Julie has been marking out the underground utilities, so demoliton is imminent. The home and the one next to it were originally owned by sisters. The neighboring house is a mirror image of this one. I will post from time to time the construction progress or lack thereof of this home.
