Erics Picture a Week Blog

This is my new site for my 2007 Picture a Week project. In 2006 I moved to a photoblog format and feel very comfortable with it. This site allows me to post more than one picture per week. Of course it tells if I don't keep up with the weekly posting. Also included is the archive for my 2005 Picture a Week project.

Week 26 Crown Hall

Crown Hall at the Illinois Institute of Technology is undergoing the first phase of a complete restoration. The steel is being stripped and repainted. All the glass is being replaced. Due to the paint removal, the building is literally being kept undercover. From what I've seen I think Mies would be pleased with the restoration.

This phase of the project is due to be completed before school starts in the fall.

Week 25 Mixed bag

This week is a mixed bag of sights around Chicago. While Earl will never compete with the Pimp my Ride crew, remember if you leave the windows down, Earl will do the interior for free.

Week 25

This dog belongs to my neighbor. I am baffled by the breed and he doesn't have a tail either.

Week 23 More Fishing

My other passion in life is fishing. Hopefully this is one of the hobbies that I can pass on to my two sons. The Evanston Park District has a wonderful program every Saturday morning to promote fishing for kids. They provide the rod, reel, and the worms and off you go. This pond is stock with tiny bluegills and bullheads. This week, it was so busy they ran out of worms. In the past years they have also stocked some nice size channel cats. My son nailed an 18" cat last year.
