Erics Picture a Week Blog

This is my new site for my 2007 Picture a Week project. In 2006 I moved to a photoblog format and feel very comfortable with it. This site allows me to post more than one picture per week. Of course it tells if I don't keep up with the weekly posting. Also included is the archive for my 2005 Picture a Week project.

Week 22 Allstate Flea Market

One of my favorite summer activities is wandering through one of the local flea markets in the area. The one at the Allstate Arena is a nice because it has enough variety and can be walked through in and hour or two. This vendor was clearing out his collection of tops. This was the first time I've seen this many tops at the flea market. Now if only I can get that M6 cheap at the market.

Week 21 Trout fishing

On Golf road and the Tri-state tollway is the remains of a trout fishing pond and I believe a minature golf course. The course and support building was torn down a couple years ago, but the this sign is still around. Clearly a throwback to the fifties, these bits of history is slowly disappearing.

Week 20 Tardis

Parked in front of a British pub on Lincoln avenue is a London telephone booth. I was expecting Dr. Who to jump out of the Tardis. Better yet, maybe Mary Jane is in there with him.

Week 19 Mission from God

While wondering wondering around downtown, I came across the Bluesmobile parked for a promo shoot. Even though The Blus Brothers movie is 25 years old, it is still a favorite around here. Here is a rare picture of yours truly getting ready to go on a mission from God.

Week 18 The 3 Bears

I came across these 3 bears by the Columbia College campus here in Chicago. The raven showed up for the reading, but where is Goldilocks?

Week 17 Easter Island

I have been going thru the film speed tests following mostly the Ansel Adams book (The Negative) and Fred Picker's book (Zone VI Workshop). While I am unable to visit the places these two photographers worked, this is the closest I'll get to Fred's trip to the Easter Islands.

In case you are wondering, my tests came up with an EI of 200 for HP5 with 6 minutes in HC-110.
