Erics Picture a Week Blog

This is my new site for my 2007 Picture a Week project. In 2006 I moved to a photoblog format and feel very comfortable with it. This site allows me to post more than one picture per week. Of course it tells if I don't keep up with the weekly posting. Also included is the archive for my 2005 Picture a Week project.

Week 21 Portage Theatre

The Portage Theatre reopened recently as a revival house. There was quite a battle to get it open due to new code requirements for the old theatre. The new owners finally got everything done for the grand opening.

Week 20

Its been pretty rainy all last week. We finally had a break in the clouds and Sunday I brought out the 4x5 for a couple garden delights. My wife was a little puzzled when she saw me shooting the rhubarb plant. I like the pictures more than eating the rhubarb.

week 20

The rhodedendum is also starting to bloom. I think I blew out the highlights on this one. I'm trying to figure out this front tilt thing along with Mr. Scheimphlog's (sp?) principle. I think I needed a little more bellows to crop this a little closer.

Week 19

This week is the open house for the architecture students at IIT. This monolith is made entirely of priority post boxes. I'm not sure what the 4 pallets of phone books outside was going to be made into.

Week 19

This broken box of nails has been sitting quite awhile on one our jobsites. I liked the contrast between the rust and the gravel. I guess rust never sleeps.

This weeks pictures were shot with the R3a, 40mm nokton on HP5 @EI200 souped in HC110b.

Week 18

The Bahai Temple celebrated its 75th anniversary this week. It is one of my favorite subjects as I am always discovering something new there. This shot is about a year old. It is my first foray into 8 x 10 photography.
